Michelle Johnson is a soprano of extraordinary talent and acclaim. As a Grand Prize Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she has been praised by critics as “a clear audience favorite,” celebrated for her impeccable breath control and velvety voice that effortlessly transports listeners into a realm of musical splendor. Upcoming engagements include Aida with Opera Southwest, Madama Butterfly with Opera on the James, and Nedda in Pagliacci with the Festival International de Musique Saint-Georges in Guadeloupe. Recent performances include Aida with Boston Lyric Opera, Yolando in the rarely performed El Caminante by Cuban composer Eduardo Sanchez de Fuentes, La Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro with Sarasota Opera, and a return to the Madison Symphony Orchestra for Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess suite.
